Notice Regarding a Change of Control Over Personal Information
McMaster University collects, uses, and discloses personal information in the ordinary course of its operations, including through the Rural Ontario Medical Program (ROMP) which has been an administrative unit within McMaster’s Faculty of Health Sciences. As part of this transition, effective on December 1, 2025, personal information previously collected by the ROMP unit within McMaster for the purpose of enabling ROMP to carry out its education placement activities will be transferred to the standalone ROMP organization. The standalone ROMP organization is legally independent from McMaster and will assume control over personal information that was collected while ROMP was an administrative unit of McMaster. The standalone ROMP organization will continue to use and disclose personal information for the same purposes ROMP unit within McMaster collected the personal information from you unless it obtains your consent to use or disclose your personal information for new or different purposes.
